In January we bought plane tickets to go to Ireland for Easter (from 10 to 20 April). Since then we have been preparing to travel the route designing, deciding the places to visit and looking for accommodation. What was clear from a good start, was that we wanted to travel around the island by rental car, the best way to discover this country.
To plan any trip is first of all well documented. For that, we ordered brochures on the website of Tourism Ireland and became the country with some guidelines. Buy the Globetrotter guide and library took the Lonely Planet "Best of" preparing to travel is ideal.
We have also consulted many travel blogs. There are a lot of blogs Dublin, but throughout Ireland are few. And our idea was to be some time in the capital, although we missed some things, and spend more time exploring the island. The blog has served us most was the Stray Traveler, much like a circular route we wanted to do. They were one day earlier than us and toured the island. For us it was like a guide.
With the information in these brochures, blogs and guides we have compiled the most interesting places to visit. To design the path we have marked on a map in green and yellow as essential points worthwhile. The truth is that the map has been very busy and although we would like to visit it all is impossible to give us time and we had to prioritize.
The next step was to define the route, ie, what to visit every day so you can pick the cities to spend the night. We struggled a bit but we believe we have succeeded in making a feasible route where we can explore the best of the country. It is true that some days will be much car but still two to drive think it's no problem.
