JAPAN 2: Tokyo II

Many guidelines recommend visiting the Tsukiji fish market after the first night in Japan taking advantage of the jet lag and we did. Although when we rang the alarm for 5:30 am so it took him to get up! To get there we took the Ginza line (G) to Ueno-hirokoji where we did transfer to the Oedo (E) line to Tukishima. The line E is more expensive than the G to be private so we had to buy two different subway tickets.
On leaving the metro's main entrance is on the right but not as we knew it went left and came up with a secondary entrance. The truth is that everything was so chaotic! Then we approached a guard explained in English market rules and gave us a map and guide to guide. We dropped the world over when he explained that the main area was closed to the public until 9 o'clock in the morning. Since they were little more than 7 h still had almost two hours to get to so we said we were going to walk around the other areas. As account on their website, due to the large increase in tourists in recent years have had to restrict access to work better. So there are only two organized visits to the tuna auction at 5:25 and 5:50.
We then went for a walk in JOGAI Sijou, area retail market. Being so early there was little movement of people and in some places they were still putting the goods. We saw very curious shops and other dried fish tacos with tortilla-like we were curious to know what would taste.

As we had not had breakfast yet started looking for a good place to eat sushi, the local specialty. We went to Uogasi Yokochou, the main restaurant area. Some were full of Japanese but had some indication in English and gave us something to enter. There were others that seemed very expensive but should have good reputation in the guides as there were western queue to enter. Finally found one that had a less abundant sushi but also much cheaper dish. We took only one to share 850 yen and got for each green tea and miso soup without charge. It was all yummy! We also put the tortilla we saw in the shops and it was a little weird to be sweet.

Where were we headed 9am to market area Tsukiji Wholesale. It was huge and even had people coming and going and mechanical bulls, so I had to be careful not to get hit by anyone. But it is also true that many sites were already picking up and saw a few whole fish since most were already cut into pieces. We did a little anger can not enter before after getting up so early.

Completed before leaving the market tour took a little walk around the area of vegetables but hardly remained open positions. Leaving saw indicated the Buddhist temple of Tsukiji Hongan-ji a few feet and went to look. But it was under renovation and could not enter. It is seen that the interior is quite nice but the outside leaves a little to be desired to be a modern stone building.
